Strategy document details in ICT for the Defense segment. International cooperation is envisaged in the scope.

The Ministry of Defence (MD) released on Wednesday (31) the Master Plan for Information and Communications Technology (PDTIC). The initiative is composed of objectives, strategies, goals, actions and indicators related to supplying the needs in Information Technology and Communications (ICT), and includes actions relating to monitoring processes demands, material procurement and contracting services. The document is valid until 2019.

"This is a dynamic planning done with the participation of all sectors of the central administration, which contains concrete actions for the development of technological solutions to support the management and improvement of internal processes," explained the head of the Department of Information Technology (DEPTI), general Sergio Luiz Duarte Goulart.

Also according to the head of DEPTI, the tool enables the sharing and integration of data, processes and systems, ensuring the management of assets and the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the laws in force.

The PDTIC began production in August 2015 through surveys of needs related to information technology (IT) of each MD area. In July this year, the document was approved by Defense Minister Raul Jungmann, and published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on August 1.
