A new project funded by the European Commission and aiming to increase international cooperation has been implemented.
The kick-off meeting of AANChOR (All AtlaNtic Cooperation for Ocean Research and innovation) took place in Brussels, on October 18th and 19th, 2019.
AANChOR has two main objectives:
- To promote the implementation of the Belém Statement, signed by the EU, Brazil and South Africa in 2017
- To enhance research and innovation across and along the Atlantic Ocean, from Antarctica to the Arctic, pole to pole.
Composed by institutions from Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, Cape Verde and several European countries, AANChOR will promote collaborative initiatives in several areas of knowledge, having the Atlantic Ocean as a common resource and starting point.
