4th Coordinated Call BR-EU, held between Brazil and the European Union, aims to support and promote joint research and development projects (R & D) in areas such as Internet of Things, 5G and cloud computing, through consortium between Brazilian and foreign institutions and companies. The rules of the international call will be announced on September 20, in Brasília (DF), as part of the program of ICTWeek 2016 event sponsored by Brazil and the European Commission from 20 to 23 September, under the Sector Dialogues program.

On the first day of the event, the National Network of Education and Research (RNP) will hold a workshop to demonstrate the preliminary results of the previous project selection and present information to entrepreneurs and researchers interested in participating in the 4th call. In 2015, the contribution to the five projects covered was 7 million euros in the areas of cloud computing, high performance computing and experimental platforms.

The workshop program also brings a panel open to the participation of interested bidders to submit projects. In this space, researchers can quickly display (by means of a pitch) objectives and research areas in order to attract partners.

For the project coordinator of RNP, Wanderson Paim, the call is another step towards the consolidation of the relationship between Brazil and the European Union on information and communication technologies (ICTs). "International cooperation is highly beneficial because it encourages the creation of new partnerships and the exchange of information between researchers and companies concerned with technological advancement. The results have been satisfactory and this leads us to believe that we are on track, "he said.

Those interested in attending the workshop must register via the form on this link. The ICTWeek is held as a partnership between the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication (MCTIC) and the European Commission.
